Kyvyt Esiin / Abilities Forward

Is a schooling event for 2-3 year old horses. The owner gets an evaluation of the horse’s gaits and jumping capacity when free jumping. The events are held in April in ten different locations around the country. The best horses of all the spring events in the gaits and jumping are selected for a final held in September and the top horses of the finals are invited to show there abilities in the Helsinki International Horse Show in October.

Laatuarvostelu / Quality evaluation

This event is held in September and is meant for 4-year old horses. 5-year old mares who have foaled can also be entered. The horses go through a vetenary check up and the are judged for their conformation, gaits and jumping abilities. The horses can be entered either for the dressage or show jumping. The dressage horses do a small jumping test and the jumping horses are evaluated for their gaits.

5-vuotisderby / 5 year derby

A competition for 5-year old FWB horses. Showjumpin classes are 110-120cm and the dressage classes in the higher basic level. Derby is held in August as a part of the Young Horse Festival. A major outdoor dressage and show jumping competition.

Breeders’ Prize

A competition for 6-year old FWB horses. The entering fee is paid annually beginning when the foal is born. The annual payment fee is increased gradually. The horse can be entered also later only the entering fees need to be paid in double. The Breeders’ Prize is held both in dressage and show jumping. The entering fees are paid back  as prize money for the five best horses in both competitions. The prize money of a particular horse is divided between the owner (75%) and the breeder (25%). 2007 the winner horse of both competition received over EUR 4000.

Festival for Young Horses

A new annual event held in August which  brings together a lot of young horses in competition. Among other young horses classes the Derbys for 5-year old horses and the Breeders’ Prize are held within this competition
